Go to one or more of the following websites, Reuter’s, Thomson Financial Service, or Bloomberg Financial (E-Trade Financial Learning Center has them all), or Yahoo Finance to download the historical closing prices (for different periods i.e five years) of your company on the monthly basis or daily basis like the one below.

What stocks to choose
for your analysis? You may use Yahoo Finance, stock “Screeners” for
selecting the stocks you like.
You may choose your
own criteria to choose your stocks. I use predefined criteria “Growth
Technology Stocks.” I get the following page
For simplicity of
explanation, I choose the first one in the list (You may choose any stocks
in the list): Apple
Click AAPL, I then
get the following page. I then click Historical Data
I get the following historical data page. I then click Monthly for frequency and I have the following one year weekly price for Apple stock. Please note to use Adjusted Close price for your data. (The adjusted close include the dividend and stock split information).
Click Download button
and you will get the data from an Excel file

In case the data you
are looking are not available in Yahoo Finance, then you may google “???” for
this project. For example, I want to calculate the current ratio for AAPL.
Current ratio is equal to current assets/current liabilities.
I will Google current assets/current liabilities for AAPL.
Type on the search
bar: Current assets for apple computer, I then get the following information:
