A diegetic sound or music is any
sound that originates from the world of a film. Unlike the oral storytelling
style, where the narrator creates the words of the story, everything that
exists in the world of a film is called the diegesis.

Diegetic Sound (Source Music) in the World of Film Making
From the example of the music video
provided above, the audience can hear the sound of a trumpet. However, one is
still determining the source of the music at the beginning of the music video. Diegetic
or source music is music in a drama (e.g., film or video game) that is part of
the fictional setting and is presumably heard by the characters. Based on how
the sound changes with scenes and the movements made by the shadow man as he
plays the video, can we refer to the music video as an example of
"diegetic music/sound"?
