The Five Practices of Exemplary Leaders:

1.      Model the Way 'Find Your Voice and Set the Example"

As a leader, I am obligated to model the way for others to follow which means going first and becoming a good example for others. The studies have demonstrated that leaders are supposed to find their voices and stand up for their beliefs. Thus, I will put the insights from practice number 1 into practice by modeling the way for others by discovering my voice and setting an example. This will require personal credibility which is considered to be among the most vital personal makings that individuals look for and esteem in a leader. It was also clear that I must evidently and genuinely contribute expression to their values (Kouzes & Posner, 2018). Thus, my action will include modeling the way for the members of the team which begins with the amplification of individual values and encompasses structuring and confirming shared values to be embraced by others.

2.      Inspire a Vision "Envision the Future and Entrust in others.

Leaders can inspire vision by passionately believing that they can make a difference. As a leader, I will put the practice into action by inspiring a vision by imagining the future of the organization. I will also focus on generating perfect and inimitable appearance of what the business can become in the future. My leadership will also focus on enlisting my team in the vision through persuasion and magnetism. This will include breathing life into the visions and getting people to see exciting possibilities for the future. Besides, leaders are required to be compelled by their vivid imagination of prospect and what the organization can become in the future. I will also focus on inspiring a shared vision by foreseeing the future and enlisting others in a common vision for the organization.

I will also put the second practice into action by imagining the attractive opportunities by imagining the attractive opportunities that can be attained in the future. The strategy will be useful in guiding the team to a fruitful destination by gazing across the horizon of time. Besides, it was also clear that leaders should passionately desire to improve the overall performance of the team by adopting a belief that positive changes can be achieved. As a result, my goal will be guided by the desire to make a difference by keeping my team involved in the planning and implementation of the visions to create something that no one else has ever produced.

3.      Challenge the Process "Search for Opportunities and Experiment and Take Risks

The studies have also demonstrated that leaders should practice the action of challenging the process by becoming the pioneers. The practice should include the desire to step out into the unknown which results in positive changes instead of accepting the status quo. I will also aim to look for opportunities for improvement, growth, and innovation. I will also put the practice into action by exploring new strategies and taking risks. Considering that innovation and overcoming the challenges involves risks and experiments. As a leader, my goal will be to become an early supporter and adopter of new ideas and innovation. My practice will also entail remaining open to receiving ideas from everyone in my team and outside the organization that is focusing on growth.

My primary contribution will also include recognizing and supporting good ideas that support growth. My actions will also entail the desire to challenge the traditional strategies and systems that can interfere with the overall growth of the team. Leadership also entails learning from mistakes and encouraging others to do the same instead of trying to blame others for mistakes. Thus, I will focus on trying new strategies to improve the overall performance by encouraging the members of my team to remain focused on the results. Moreover, Leaders understand that learning from previous mistakes is the key to opening the doors to opportunities. Besides, the studies have shown that new strategies might not always result in positive outcomes because of the risks that can sometimes fail. Thus, I will also focus on creating a climate in which people feel in charge of change.

4.      Enable Others to Act 'Foster Collaboration and Strengthen Others"

As a leader, I will incorporate the practice of enabling others to act by keeping them involved in the process. It was clear that leadership is a team effort because leaders know they cannot achieve positive results alone without keeping the members of the team involved. According to Kouzes and Posner, (2018), leaders should enable others to act by nurturing teamwork and consolidating the team towards the desired goals. It was also clear that trust, empowerment and collaboration are essential to strengthen the capacity of the members of the team to deliver and often exceed their own expectations. The studies have also demonstrated that collaboration is the master skill that enables a team to remain focused on attaining the desired outcomes (Kouzes & Posner, 2018).

Additionally, I will put practice number three into action by making it possible for everyone to achieve and deliver the promised keeping them involved in every step of the organizational operations. My goal will also entail helping in creating a trusting climate to ensure active cooperation among the members of the team. The studies have also demonstrated that leaders should understand that sustaining extraordinary efforts requires mutual among the members of the team. Besides, the improvements can be archived when a manager is aware that leadership is assumed as an association that is founded on reliance and self-assurance. I will incorporate the practice of establishing trust to create an environment where people can take risks, make changes, and focus on achieving the desired outcomes.

5.      Encourage the Heart 'Recognize Contributions and Celebrate the Values and Victories"

I will incorporate the practice of encouraging the heart among the members of my team by spotting and celebrating the standards and triumphs. The action will entail genuine acts of caring and uplifting the spirits of the team to draw them forward. According to the studies, leadership should entail encouraging the spirits of the team members by recognizing their contributions and celebrating their victories. Therefore, showing appreciation for the contributions made by the employees and creating an environment of celebration is part of the responsibilities tasked to the leaders. It was also clear that encouragement can come from simple actions and gestures such as offering rewards. However, I will put the practice into action by setting high standards and expectations for the team and the general organization. Leaders also create self-fulfilling predictions for the team to follow which encourages them that ordinary employees can achieve victories. Thus, my action will include offering personalized appreciation, maintaining a positive outlook, and paying attention to encouragement by stumbling the spirits.
