Connection Between the film “The Young Karl Marx” and the Studies

The history of the world is marked by the development of different ideologies, which are attained through struggle. The key concept presented by the film “The Young Karl Marx” includes the struggles that the individuals under the working class underwent during the 18th century. For instance, the film explores the exploitative power relationships between the workers and the capitalists (Leopold, 2015). Similarly, the theme of ideological development during the colonial period was explored in our reading in chapter 20. Social unity was marked by the struggles of different people who were grouped as revolutionaries, liberals, or conservatives (Brophy et al., 2020).  According to the studies, the social development during the colonial period was marked by conflicts between people from the lower and upper classes (Brophy et al., 2020).. As a result, one of the key connections that can be identified between the film and our studies is the theory of class conflict during the colonial error. Our readings in chapter 21 also explore the ideas surrounding the formation of our cultural and political systems (Brophy & Cole, 2020). Similarly, the film emphasizes the revisionary movements that led to the formation of the Soviet Union. For instance, a relevant scene is seen in Part 1. 45:12 -59:40, which shows how Karl Marx speared headed social relations. The incidence is seen as choosing to precedence social unity over the individual consciousness created by capitalism.

The studies also show the historical struggles toward attaining equal rights. Despite focusing on social class, the film has demonstrated the need for large-scale societal change toward attaining equal human rights.  According to the research, the formation of the current cultural ideologies and social systems was marked by a struggle with different forms of alienation (Arruda, 2019). Thus, there is a key connection between the film and the primary sources, considering that they have demonstrated the formation of the current social, cultural and political systems. However, the film seems to neglect other factors that contribute to social inequalities, such as ethnicity and gender inequalities.
